Today Testament Winery is launching its first wine at Systembolaget. When the state monopoly selected a Croatian wine to be sold in 123 stores in Sweden, The Dalmatian Dog was chosen. This is an important milestone for Testament in reaching its goal – to create Croatia’s best wine.
“We dedicate this wine to the Dalmatian Dog, possibly the most important symbol for the region of Dalmatia where our vineyard is located. Here, a wine lover will find everything he dreams of: exciting indigenous grapes, a unique terroir and a two thousand year old wine tradition, which we are proud to bring to new generations. Make The Dalmatian Dog Great Again”, says Robert Karlsson, CEO of Zhoda Investments.
Excellent review and awards
Earlier this year, The Dalmatian Dog 2018 was awarded a gold medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards, the largest and most influential wine competition. The first reviews of the wine in Sweden have been excellent.
Alf Tumble, a wine journalist at Sweden’s largest newspaper Dagens Nyheter describes the Dalmatian Dog as “A nice doggie. Wonderful aromas. Spicy, red, dark with hints of forest raspberries and thyme. A pleasant surprise!”
123 stores around Sweden
The Dalmatian Dog is now sold in 123 stores throughout Sweden. The wine is guaranteed shelf space for 12 months. On 1 May 2021, a ranking period is started during which sales, measured as the number of receipts, compared to other wines in the same price category will decide continued presence in the stores.
The wine has article number 2097 and a price of SEK 120.
Information about the organic wine
The Dalmatian Dog is a red wine made on 100% organic babic. Babic (pronounced baabich) is a Croatian grape from the region of Dalmatia that has been cultivated by the Adriatic Sea since ancient times. It has cherry aromas combined with Dalmatian herbs.
In ancient times, the Croatian Dalmatian breed served as the guardian of the wagons that firefighters rode to the scene of a fire. The Dalmatian is an intelligent and well-defined muscular dog with excellent endurance and stamina. It is the only dog that smiles by showing its teeth.
